Stacy Henderson has gained a reputation as an outstanding civil litigation and transactional attorney, specializing in the areas of employment law, corporate law and public agency law.  Ms. Henderson has been named by Northern California Super Lawyers Magazine as a Top Attorney in Northern California and a Rising Star.

In her employment law practice, Ms. Henderson advises her clients on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship.  She works with employers to achieve compliance with laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Employment and Housing Act, Family Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act, and wage and hour.  Ms. Henderson also drafts employee handbooks, aids with the on-boarding and termination processes, performs training seminars on a variety of topics including sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention, and provides overall guidance with day-to-day creation, implementation and enforcement of policies.

As a litigator, Ms. Henderson guides her clients through cases in state and federal courts throughout California involving diverse legal issues including: breach of contract, environmental contamination, negligence, construction defect, interference with property rights, commercial and residential lease disputes, unlawful detainer and eminent domain.  She has experience representing clients from both the plaintiff’s and defendant’s perspectives.  She has also served as co-class counsel in a number of class action cases involving allegations of product defect and unfair business practices.  Ms. Henderson works diligently to reach the result in each case that meets each of her client’s individual needs, whether through her first-hand negotiation of a settlement, mediation, arbitration or trial.  Examples of cases Ms. Henderson has first-chaired include the following:

  • Court trial involving claims of breach of contract and fraud, where Ms. Henderson’s client was awarded $19,800,000.
  • Represented various businesses in lawsuits involving employment law issues, including compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Fair Employment and Housing Act and wage and hour laws.
  • Represented various businesses in cases involving allegations of discrimination and retaliation.
  • Represented several property owners in disputes regarding issues involving easements, failure to make required disclosures, nuisance and trespass. In one such jury trial, the verdict for Ms. Henderson’s client included an award of $487,500 in general damages and an additional $45,850 in punitive damages.

Ms. Henderson also advises developers, farmers, dairies, restaurants, non-profit organizations, regional centers, and individuals on topics such as contract and lease formation, negotiation with public entities, and the creation and modification of easements, licenses and road maintenance agreements.

In addition, Ms. Henderson serves as Deputy City Attorney for the City of Ripon and General Counsel for Santa Nella County Water District, Hughson Fire Protection District and Escalon Cemetery District, where she provides counsel regarding the full range of legal issues affecting each agency’s day-to-day activities and represents the agencies in litigation.


Ms. Henderson is a member of the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the San Joaquin County Bar Association.  She is admitted to practice in the State of California and before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District and Northern District of California.


Ms. Henderson received her Juris Doctorate, with Distinction, from the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in 2002 and was named a member of the Order of the Coif.  She was also given the Honors at Entrance designation and the McGeorge Scholar Award upon acceptance to McGeorge.  Each year, she was placed on the McGeorge Dean’s Honor List.  Ms. Henderson’s law school honors include being appointed Teaching Assistant for Torts and being named a member of the prestigious Roger J. Traynor Honor Society.  In addition, she was the recipient of Verne Adrian and Annabel McGeorge Academic Achievement Scholarship and the Emil Gumpert Trial Advocacy Award.

Prior to law school, Ms. Henderson attended California State University, Fresno, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and minor in Criminology in 1999, Magna Cum Laude, after only three years.


Ms. Henderson is a graduate of the Leadership Stockton Class of 2009.  She has also shown her dedication to the community by volunteering as a member of the Board of Directors of the United Way of San Joaquin County and the Lambda Theta Phi organization, both of whom raise funds and provide hands-on assistance to various charitable organizations within San Joaquin County.  She is a Delta Gamma alumni, and previously served as the Advisory Team Chairman for the Delta Gamma chapter at University of the Pacific.  Currently, Ms. Henderson is the Public Relations Chair of the Greater Stockton Employer Advisory Council.
